Rational brain: “But but… he’s awesome and smart and funny and keen and attractive and and ALL THE THINGS YOU WANT!”
Emotional brain: “Meh”
Rational brain: “Well at least give it a good college try, I mean LOOK AT HIM, HE’S AMAZING!”
Emotional brain: “Oh, FFS, FINE THEN… “
*at some point a bit later*
Emotional brain: *shrug* “Yeah, I got nothin’”
Rational brain: “I fucking HATE YOU SO MUCH! WHY ARE YOU SO IMPOSSIBLE?!”
Emotional brain: “HIM HIM HIM HIMHIMHIMHIM!!!!”
Rational brain: “But, look, he’s not even…”
Emotional brain: “STFU BITCH, I WILL CUT YOU!! SHUT UP SHUT UPSHUTUP!!!”
Rational brain: “Um…”
Emotional brain: *stabs rational brain multiple times, hits it with sticks, then sets it on fire* FUCK YOUUUUUUUU!!”
Oh, Ferns…*sighs in sympathy and also slight amusement*
*chuckle* Truth be told, if the second happened more often, I’d be pretty happy…
Ha ha ha ha ha! I so relate to this! It’s quite rare when my emotional and rational brains can agree on someone. And despite my recent rash of emotional brain stimulation, (and the unprecedented agreement on with whom I should engage) it’s pretty rare for me to have any reaction from either brain other than “Well I know I should want this, but meh.”
Pffft rational what does it know?
Pffft rational what does it know??
I understand the war inside all too much. Mostly I end up listening to my rational brain probably way too much.
Hmmmm. That looks familiar… reminds me of a story about a lizzard. ;-)
