My sent emails XX

Hello someguy (I will not address you as “Slutsomeguy”, I find that distasteful when I don’t even know you),

My first question is “Why are you contacting me?”

Is it because I am local, identify as a Domme, and am somewhat age appropriate? In other words, is it because I will “do” to fulfil whatever needs it is you have?

What do you know about me? Where in the above missive have you demonstrated that you have taken even a single second to try to figure out what it might be that I want, if anything? One would think that if you were at all actually interested in ‘pleasing me’ as you say, you would do a little research to find out a little about me and see if you can engage me on that level in an introductory message.

Did you do that? No. You wrote a list of what you want (and make no mistake, your claim of being a ‘service slut’ has nothing to do with me or my needs), sent it on and called it an ‘application’.

If, as you say, you are a well educated professional, then surely it would be self evident in your professional dealings that if you want to sell something, you don’t concentrate on ‘stuff’ that your product can do, you research your target market, figure out what it is they want and then see how you can fulfil that need with your offer.

I hope that the above helps you in your future endeavours. Best of luck.

  1. i hope this is not inappropriate for me to say, but i think it's quite admirable that You take the time to explain to men just what about their view of submission is flawed and what it would take to fix it. For the minority of us out there who are trying to improve, such comments are necessary and appreciated for the newly-bred submissive still floundering about.

Aww, thank you. I figure if they are actually sincere (and I believe some of them are), then maybe, just maybe, they will have a think about how their approach comes across. I figure if I manage to make 1 out of 100 take a look at themselves, it's worthwhile!

  3. I admire your patience in teaching male “subs” like the one mentioned in this post, Ferns, even though you do it in a bit of a snarky way ;) I do not have ANY patience. I go right to the scathing snark, write a horribly unhelpful and mean reply, and then don't even send it, so enraged am I at the uselessness of it all.

So this is another good reminder that I should really do better in this regard. Thank you :)

  4. Ferns,

Your sent emails are some of my favorite things to read on my blog feed. They're always good for a chuckle. What are these men thinking?! As stated above, I'm glad You take the time to respond and guide them. It might just be because I'm a woman, but I'm generally a little flabbergasted by male sub emails… my Mistress sometimes shares Hers. The basic rules of marketing apply, no matter what you're selling!

*~laugh~* I do get snarky (though I prefer to call it 'good natured humour', which is a bit of a stretch at times… heh…), and the level of it does depend on my mood and the nature of the actual inboxed email. Quite often, my own responses make me laugh, and amusing myself is a favourite pastime… maybe I should be thanking them?!

I'm glad they give you a chuckle! And that question is *exactly* mine also. I still have no idea what they are thinking, but I am optimistic enough to believe that some are simply misguided and genuinely think that they are making a reasonable approach. My responses very much reflect my opinion on their level of wankosity.

*laugh* Only about a gazillion to go!! Huzzah!
