My sent emails X

Mostly I leave you to imagine the email I am responding to, but this one deserves a little backstory…

In response to my post here, where I coveted this t-shirt, a lovely reader of this blog with whom I have exchanged a few sweet emails offered to send it to me, or buy it on my behalf…

______________

Hello lovely_boy_reader,

That is incredibly kind of you. I would love that and will most happily reimburse you! *bounce bounce*

I will go and find the right size and we can sort out the details. Oh, how fun!!

*happy sigh* …and this, boys, is how you attract positive attention… The awesomeness is even more awesome because he is happily in a relationship, remote from me, and there is no motive here except for natural beauty and goodness…

  1. Ah Brids, but Miss Ferns offered to reimburse the boy!

It's the altruism of it – the thinking of someone else, putting yourself into their mind. Actually, I'm not sure that 'altruism', or even kindness, or generosity, is the right word. Perhaps there isn't a right word.

Well, whatever it is, I know for certain that Miss Ferns has it, in spadefuls, so it'd be no surprise that she'd warm to it when she sees it another person. But I think anybody would warm to it.

  2. Brids: “By…buying people stuff?”

*sigh* Yes, Brids, that is EXACTLY the message I was conveying… geez!

It doesn't matter that he did indeed offer to buy it for me, that's not the point. He had also (graciously, in my mind) paid enough attention to know that having something bought for me might not sit quite right with me, so offered alongside that to facilitate the buying on my behalf.

THAT is what lovely boys do… they pay attention, they see or find ways to offer something that they know the woman wants and they take initiative, they do it because they are kind and thoughtful, they are gracious and genuine in it, it shows something about the way they walk around in the world, it gives a peek into how they think about those they interact with, they are the swoonworthy, the ones who will have their pick of dominant women while those around them are whining about there not being any around…

  3. “THAT is what lovely boys do… they pay attention “

That was a HUGE run on sentence and it didn't even end! Who knows when you'll continue on with that ellipsis.

Anyway, back on topic. I totally missed all that. But how was I suppose to know you wouldn't feel comfortable with someone buying you something?

That's it, and I agree… perhaps there isn't a right word. The best I can come up with is 'swoonworthy' *smile*

*warm smile* Thank you, puppy, the sweetness is much appreciated.

  6. Selflessness or altruism can't be bought or borrowed or loaned or imitated. It just *is* the purest form of evolved human expression to others.

I agree Sir Pupp that there is no word that really wraps completely around the concept. That word would have to include: beauty, self sacrifice, selflessness, love, altruism, warmth, thoughtfulness, willingness, joy, delight, chocolate, sweetness, tenderness, satisfaction, anticipation and oodles of others.

  7. Why thank you Sir Pupp! Your compliment brought a nice grin when i read it. It was your thoughtful post that elicited my offering. Thanks!

  8. Coug: “Zomg Fernz is teh FinDom nowz ???????”

I am deliberately reading this as 'Zomg, some boys are teh brilliance!!!' Yes, Coug, yes they are!!

I will not be distracted from being bathed in the swoonworthy.

  10. puppy: “It's rare for me to say this, Angus – but you expressed it better than I did.”

Awww… boy-boy sweetness… next there will be kissing… Just sayin'.
