Crush connections

There is a lightness, a quickening, a wonderful buzzing that even small crush connections can bring.

I love them even if they are short-lived, a fleeting moment that flares, then disappears as quickly as it started. And most of them are just that: a flurry of interest that hits a peak and then fades quietly away.

That doesn’t diminish the pleasure I get from them. They wake up my synapses in delightful ways, stirring up parts of me that are often dormant, reminding me that all that fire and heat is still there just waiting to be activated, and I adore that.

Some are intellectual connections, some emotional, some purely an appreciation for the physical. And most are a mix-n-match of these, a colourful grab-bag of different flavours that I will greedily shove into my mouth and suck the life out of before the half-empty bag is snatched away.

  1. My Mix N’ Match crush on you is still alive and well… It turns 4 in just another couple of months and I hope it still provides a bit of that “lightness, a quickening, a wonderful buzzing”

    I *DO* try, you know.

  2. This year I have learnt a great deal about crushes I never realized until now.

My first lesson was that a crush can sneak up on you and you can’t control who you end up crushing on. I told myself I would never crush on a heterosexual woman and ended up doing exactly that and having it turn into a beautiful friendship. *smiles*

My second lesson was in having someone crush on me and learning how to handle the feelings involved. I had always been the one crushing others and never had to deal with someone crushing on me until then.

It is interesting how you express a feeling of loveliness over crushes. I could go on and on why I find it interesting and unusual to me but I prefer not to completely hog your blog comments. I will end by saying though that I know you handle crushes with care and appreciation and you are definitely a beautiful woman worth crushing on.

    Respectfully,
