  1. I believe that a BDSM relationship *is* a normal relationship. While it is true that certain dynamics (such as who is in charge) are different, the same basic rules of social interaction still apply. Mutual respect, honesty, loyalty, and open communications are still in order, just like any other human relationship.

We mostly concern ourselves with the mundane, everyday affairs of living, so my biggest consideration for any BDSM relationship would be the ability get along and work toward mutual goals on a daily basis. The kinky aspect is just a part of what I would want to be a loving and mutually beneficial bond.

  2. Yes it can!
Mine would be considered more of an FLR then a BDSM. Officialy now for 10 plus years The first 20 being unoffical lol.

  3. I'm going to go with a properly functioning D/s relationship IS a normal relationship. The way love and affection is shown is different, but there is still the same, if not more, love and affection within.
I mean, no matter what way you cut it, there will be an underlying thread of D/s, no matter how overt or hidden, in my humble opinion.

It is, it is!! I do hope that he wasn't thinking normal=vanilla…

    *sigh*

I wish he would come and talk to us… we won't bite!

I have totally assumed it was a male searcher, btw.

*smile* Huge congratulations!! A Female Led Relationship is of course D/s, and *might* be BDSM if you are one of the types who considers the DS in the middle there to be doing double duty (Bondage & Discipline/Domination & Submission/Sadism & Masochism)!

  7. Coug: “Normal ?”

*laugh* Nobody said *you* were normal… that would just be a lie!

Me, though, I am perfectly normal! I get to define 'normal', though, right? Of course I do, I'm the Domme!

  8. Of note: asking google if “a dominant woman can have a normal relationship” does not bring me to your blog. I tried it…it brought up a load of nonsense.

*laugh* I tried it too, and I did find a link to this question: “I'm attracted to dominant women? do they really exist?‎” I was too scared to look at it just in case I am a figment of my own imagination…

    Thank you for the delurk!

I spank therefore I am * nods all wise like *

  11. I looked at the online BusinessDictionary. Regarding the word “norm”:

“Informal guideline about what is considered (correct or incorrect) social behavior in a particular group or social unit. Norms form expectations that members have from each other…”

If an F/m group were to gel, male submission and female dominance would be norms in this context. So, yes, a male submissive could have a “normal” relationship.
